The Lancet Commission on Culture and Health

David Napier
27 Mag 2015

"David Napier ... explain that all ideas about health – in all contexts – are cultural. And because the shared behaviours and practices that characterise culture are often taken for granted, culture is a crucial window to understand experiences of health, wellbeing and delivery of care. The Lancet Commission on Culture and Health brings together multidisciplinary perspectives, including anthropologists, social scientists, and medics."
“The systematic neglect of culture is the single biggest barrier to advancing the highest attainable standard of health worldwide.”
